EAST ST. LOUIS – Senator Christopher Belt (D-Swansea) and Representative LaToya Greenwood (D-East St. Louis) have teamed up to help communities in need this holiday season.
Belt and Greenwood will be at Mason Clark Middle School, located at 5510 State Street in East St. Louis, from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, then at Cahokia Fitness Center, located at 509 Camp Jackson Road in Cahokia Heights, later on that day from 1-3 p.m.
“Three of the poorest communities in Illinois are in the 57th District,” Belt said. “These communities deserve to have food on their tables, especially during the holidays. We need to come together to uplift one another and relieve the stress and burdens many individuals in these communities face.”
For those interested, the boxes of food will be first come, first served. Social distancing and masks are required.
If residents have questions about the event, Belt urges them to contact his office at 618-875-1212 or Greenwood’s office at 618-646-9557.
